How to Celebrate Children’s Day

children’s day in india

What is Children’s Day?

Children’s day in India is known as ‘Bal Divas’, and is celebrated on November 14th every year on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. Nehru was very fond of children, and saw them as buds in a garden. He believed that children are the future of the nation, and should be treated with complete care, affection and love. Nehru also said that children learn the most during their childhood, and that childhood should form the foundation of a potential career and bright future. So Children’s Day in India is a tribute to India’s Prime Minister Chacha Nehru and his love of children.

Why Have a Children’s Day Celebration?

Children are God’s gift to every parent. They make life more beautiful, bringing a smile to every person’s face. They are innocent and fragile, which is why they are celebrated on Children’s Day. This day also symbolizes the way childhood should be experienced – with toys, magical storybooks, school, and friends. On this day we celebrate the rights of every child and the importance of giving each one a happy childhood.

How to Celebrate Children’s Day

Children’s Day in India is usually celebrated grandly at schools, where teachers arrange various Children’s Day activities for kids to make the day joyous. Here are some ideas to help make your Children’s Day celebration special:

Arrange a Children’s Day celebration for the school

Children should be allowed to wear colourful clothes on Children’s Day, as bright colours are cheerful. Choose a theme to make your Children’s Day celebration more unique and interesting. Teachers can set up fun Children’s Day activities for kids – challenges can bring out the best in the children and make them feel special. Teachers can also talk to parents about the special talents and passions that each child possesses. You may discover a new activity or hobby your little one loves, something you can nurture to unleash their potential.

Go on a surprise outing

A surprise family vacation is a very special Children’s Day activity – try taking your little ones on an outing to an amusement park, zoo, museum, planetarium, or perhaps a particular place you know they love to spend time.

Throw a Children’s Day party

Plan a party at home and invite all of your kid’s friends and their mums. Don’t forget to have music, kid’s party games, and their favourite food items. You could also put a few educational videos on the television to answer any questions the kids might have on what Children’s Day in India is about. Ask your kids about other fun Children’s Day activities they might like to try at the party – they’re sure to have a few ideas!

Try trekking

Every child loves being adventurous! If you feel your little one is old and fit enough to try trekking, then this is one of the best ways you can spend quality time together on Children’s Day. Sure, trekking will leave them with dirty and stained cloths – but as long as you have Surf excel on your side, why worry?

Children’s Day Celebrates the Importance of a Happy Childhood

From birth to old age, there is a time for everything. According to many child development experts, childhood should be first and foremost a time of enjoyment, exploration, and play.
